Recipe By : Chatelaine Cookbook, 1985
Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00
Categories : Fareshare Chat 067
Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
     3/4 cup unsifted all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
1 cup grated or shredded Cheddar cheese
1/4 cup melted margarine
2 cups thinly sliced mild onion
1 tablespoon margarine
1 cup cooked drained noodles
2 eggs
1 cup hot milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
Pepper to taste
1 cup grated Cheddar cheese
Sift first three ingredients into a bowl. Stir in 1 cup cheese and 1/4 cup
margarine. Mix thoroughly, then press evenly over the bottom and sides of a
deep 9-inch pie plate.
Saute onion in 2 tbsps margarine until transparent; combine with noodles.
Toss and spread in the cheese crust.
Beat eggs; add milk, salt, pepper and remaining cup cheese. Pour over
noodles.
Bake at 325F for 40 minutes, or until custard is set.
If desired sprinkle a ring of grated cheese on top 5 minutes before pie is
cooked; bake until cheese melts and glistens.
Serves 6 or 7.
[allium] I think I'd add a healthy pinch of cayenne pepper or some hot
sauce to that. Maybe a little Worcestershire sauce.
